Paleo AIP Halloween Treats & Snacks
These are some of the easiest and no-cook Paleo AIP Halloween Treats & Snacks around!
Halloween treats typically include a lot of cane sugar, corn syrup, synthetic colorings, and chemical preservatives that can disrupt hormones, trigger addictive eating habits, and contribute to the development of autoimmunity, candida, and more.
But the good news is your own Paleo AIP Halloween Treats & Snacks don’t have to be ingredient-creepy, just aesthetically-haunting!
Plus they can be super easy to make with just a handful of steps or less to whip up fast and in a last-minute jiffy in case you didn’t plan ahead and have no time to bake. *raises hand* In fact, I made this whole bundle of yums in about 30 minutes (including taking pictures)!
You can create fun and delicious treats to nosh on at home, give to coworkers, or bring to your child’s classroom that are supportive of natural health…and super tasty!
Here are 4 spook-tacular Paleo AIP Halloween Treats & Snacks to consider making this year:
Choco-Dipped Fruit
One great way to make healthier Halloween treats is to dip fruit in easy homemade chocolate. You can even get super crafty and cut fruit into ghoulish shapes if you want!
To make the choco-sauce dip:
1) Add ¼ cup melted coconut oil and 1 Tbsp maple syrup to a small bowl (do not boil – I just like to use the microwave).
2) Whisk in ⅛ tsp pure vanilla extract OR for AIP use a pinch of pure vanilla bean powder.
3) Then whisk in ¼ cup cocoa powder (for AIP use carob powder) and allow to sit for 10 minutes before using as a dip for sliced fruit.
To coat the fruit:
1) Slice fruit into whatever fun shapes you like, and dip half the fruit into the choco-sauce.
2) Lay dipped fruit onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and sprinkle with a pinch of Himlayan salt.
3) You can also add eyes, mouths, whatever decorations you like using orange zest, unsweetened dried cranberries, raisins, or shredded coconut!
Banana, pears, oranges, apples, and strawberries are all yummy fruits that can be sliced into fun shapes to dip.
Zombie Brain Dates
Another Paleo AIP Halloween Treat that you can make easily for an enchanted festivity are caramel-like dates stuffed with either walnuts (for Paleo) – OR whole roasted tigernuts or tigernut butter (for AIP).
1) You simply open up the date on one side.
2) Remove the pit if necessary.
3) Drop in a couple walnut halves or some chopped walnuts (paleo) OR whole roasted tigernuts (AIP).
4) Sprinkle the tops with a pinch of sea salt and enjoy your easy, creepy zombie brain food!
Jack-o-Lantern Carrots
If you are planning on serving raw vegetables with some nutrient-dense dip, why not turn them into pumpkins first to Halloween-ify the crudite?
1) Start with a whole, large carrot.
2) Shave the outside of the carrot, then make a few slices at the top to turn them into pumpkin shapes. (I found this to be a little tricky so just be careful and use those safe knife skills!)
3) Now cut the carrot into ½ inch-thick slices and you will have yourself some bite-sized pumpkins to dip and monster-munch on!
Celery Broomsticks & Witch’s Brew Dip
You can also make a fun witch’s broomsticks dipping platter for your Paleo AIP Halloween party. This simply requires celery sticks, honey, coconut oil, some spices, and either almond butter (Paleo) – or coconut manna or tigernut butter (AIP).
1) Make some slices at one end of some celery sticks using a small, sharp knife or kitchen shears.
2) Use your fingers to to feather and fan the ends out and create what resembles the end of a broom. Place them on a platter.
3) Next, add 1 Tbsp honey, 1 Tbsp softened coconut oil, and 1/4 cup melted nut / non-nut butter of choice to a small bowl.
4) Stir well, then magically sprinkle in some cinnamon, sea salt, and ginger for a spiced, spellbinding witch’s brew dip for your celery broomsticks!
